Project requirements

The application needs to coordinate the display with a moving guide, handle crowds and reflections, and support several units where appropriate. Fixed routes or individual manual control can constrain live tours.

Solution

The following kit integrates with the pillar-style display's mobile base while retaining its existing movement and content systems.

Front UWB anchors measure a guide's relative range/direction from a badge or wristband. The source specifies up to 100Hz output and a configurable 1–5m separation, typically 2–3m. The antenna and obstacle-sensor placement require integration testing.

The proposed behavior follows while the guide walks and parks when the guide stops, coordinating the screen's orientation and content with the tour. Actual automatic switching depends on the implemented controller.

The concept allows multiple robots to follow the same guide with configured spacing, and separate tour groups to use appropriate identities/channels. Multi-robot collision handling requires its own control and acceptance.

The described sensors include ultrasound, ToF and bumpers, with local and remote emergency stops and parking-wheel locking. Content and motion interfaces coordinate screen orientation.

Reported Outcomes

The source case reports tour, operation and integration outcomes:

Following ExperienceReported angular error is within ±5°, target loss decreased from approximately 15% to below 2%, and oscillation by approximately 60% in the described environment.

Operational EfficiencyThe case reports one guide operating one–three robots, approximately 60% less manual-operation cost and same-day setup without a fixed ground route.

Application FitThe source describes airport, station, exhibition and factory-tour applications and reports approximately 40% more audience interaction in the described evaluation.
