Project requirements
The described factory includes workshops, storage and offices with dense metal equipment and obstructions. Its challenges are limited real-time personnel visibility near hazards, manual and error-prone asset inventories, and fragmented information across people, assets and zones. These conditions complicate emergency response and coordinated management.
Solution
The described solution deploys UWB anchors, tags and software as an integrated positioning system across the factory.
Anchors are placed in workshops, warehouses and key corridors according to the site layout and radio conditions. Staff wear badge tags, and equipment or assets carry suitable tags to report positions.
The management platform combines geofencing, history replay, live maps and alarm integration. Interfaces to access control, video and emergency announcements support coordinated responses.
Entry into hazardous or restricted zones can trigger visual/audible alarms. Unauthorized asset movement can generate notifications for investigation.
The case description reports results in three areas:
Safety ManagementHazard-entry response changed from minutes to seconds. Emergency position identification was reported to improve by approximately 80%, from over fifteen minutes to under three minutes.
Operational EfficiencyThe case reports approximately 30% improvement in work coordination and 50% less daily inspection time for managers.
Asset ManagementInventory time was reported to decrease by approximately 90%, from three days to under half a day, with accuracy above 99%. The description reports automatic alerts for all monitored loss or abnormal-movement events. These are case-specific reported results.
