Can an existing tracked or electric vehicle gain following capability?

Automatic Following Kits

Answer

Yes. Haoru supports electrification and following conversions, hub-motor vehicles, heavy platforms and following-module integration. Discuss the specific platform with technical support.

Development and interfaces

Do both front and rear following anchors measure angles?

Automatic Following Kits, Following Vehicles

Answer

The front anchor provides DIS0 ranging, AOA0 angle measurement and serial communication. The rear anchor provides DIS1 ranging and, in the described configuration, AOA1 angle data, forwarding it wirelessly to the front anchor. It therefore needs power but not a separate host serial connection. Check the specific kit's protocol and firmware.

Is the following-vehicle code open source?

Automatic Following Kits, Following Vehicles

Answer

The following vehicle's controller code is available as open-source development material for supported kits. The PDoA module's internal firmware is excluded.

Development and interfaces

How do the controller and motor drive communicate?

Automatic Following Kits, Following Vehicles

Answer

The system uses UART-TTL interfaces where specified, while wheel-control outputs are PWM. CH2 controls the left-wheel drive and CH3 the right-wheel drive, connected to the corresponding motor-controller inputs. Check the wiring diagram for the specific controller.

Development and interfaces

What is the two-anchor following architecture?

Automatic Following Kits, Following Vehicles

Answer

A front anchor measures DIS0 and AOA0 and provides serial communication; a rear anchor measures DIS1; the followed person carries the tag.

Development and interfaces

What radio range does UWB following support?

Automatic Following Kits, Following Vehicles

Answer

The referenced PDoA anchor and compatible tag, such as ULM3-SH, communicate over approximately 40m. Body and metal obstructions can significantly affect accuracy and link stability.

Development and interfaces

Can firmware be upgraded?

UWB Positioning, Automatic Following Kits, Following Vehicles

Answer

Yes. Supported controller firmware can be programmed using STLINK after setting up the required development environment.

Development and interfaces

What development support is available?

UWB Positioning, Automatic Following Kits, Following Vehicles

Answer

Development documents, supported SDK/API resources including Python, and the PC positioning application are provided for the applicable product.

Development and interfaces

Can the normal module firmware output raw CIR?

UWB Positioning, Automatic Following Kits, Following Vehicles

Answer

Normal ranging/positioning firmware outputs processed ranges or angles rather than raw channel impulse response data. CIR acquisition requires the compatible dedicated firmware described in the CIR development materials.
