Project requirements
Development requires real radio conditions and repeatable tests. Ad hoc module setups can take days of wiring, lack consistent calibration and collect non-comparable data. Coverage across LOS, obstruction, multipath and interference also requires planned tests and reliable recording.
Solution
The described platform combines modular hardware, firmware, software and calibration procedures for UWB development and evaluation.
Standard anchors and tags allow different topologies and supported TDoA/ToF configurations, with the required clock and synchronization arrangements.
Common protocols and interfaces support UART, USB or networking, simplifying setup from small anchor arrangements to larger evaluation arrays.
Calibration and analysis tools provide coordinate setup, live display, raw-data collection and error statistics. Recording configuration and environment supports later comparison.
The evaluation procedure covers static positioning, dynamic tracking, multipath/interference and concurrent capacity to produce quantified reports.
