Project requirements

Water and equipment concentrate substantial weight on a cart, increasing the force needed for starts, turns and slopes. Changing response routes do not suit fixed infrastructure, while staff need their hands for hoses and tools. Liquid movement also affects stability during acceleration, turning and braking, so load, center of gravity and control must be assessed.

Solution

Haoru's Integration Approach

Add a UWB following kit, motion controller, motor drive, battery and sensors to a suitable electrically convertible water-tank chassis.

A carried wristband or remote tag provides relative range and direction to the vehicle anchors. The controller adjusts driving direction and speed from those measurements.

The cart follows at the configured distance and stops when the worker stops. Remote mode supports loading, narrow routes and setup.

Front/rear anchors support target-side identification on changing routes. Turning behavior and radius require validation with the tank dimensions, chassis and fully loaded center of gravity.

Operating Sequence

1. Power the cart and carry the assigned UWB tag.

2. Vehicle anchors measure target range and direction.

3. The controller calculates motion commands from target position, separation and vehicle state.

4. The cart follows within its configured speed limit.

5. When the person stops, the cart waits at the set separation.

6. Obstruction, lost tag, tilt or emergency-stop conditions trigger the designed deceleration or stop response.

7. At the work location, staff operate the pump, hoses or carried equipment.

8. Use manual remote mode for loading, return or narrow areas.

Expected Outcomes

30% Better Transport and Supply Efficiency

Continuous operator following can reduce returning for the cart, repositioning and repeated manual pushing.

70% Less Manual Pushing Time

Staff mainly guide the route, load equipment and perform the work rather than push throughout transport.

45% Lower Physical Workload

Powered starts and travel can reduce effort under load and during repeated turns, preserving staff capacity for subsequent tasks.

These percentages are estimates for level surfaces, one-person guidance, frequent short transfers and reasonable loading. Actual outcomes depend on tank capacity, load, slope, surface, speed and workflow and require site testing.

Application Benefits

No Preinstalled Fixed Route

The cart follows personnel without magnetic strips, QR routes or rails, supporting temporary training and logistics routes.

Transporting Water and Equipment Together

Within approved payload limits, the platform can include storage for hoses, tools and emergency supplies to reduce retrieval trips.

Following and Remote Operation

Use following for regular transport and remote mode for loading, narrow areas and parking.

Custom Integration

Haoru can assess the existing chassis, tank dimensions, supply voltage, load and interfaces for kit selection and development support.

Configurable Stopping and Monitoring

Emergency stop, obstacle stopping, speed limits, tilt detection, battery indication and abnormal-state stops can be selected according to the application assessment.
